A probable incomplete Late Iron Age to Early Roman cast copper-alloy vessel foot, possibly from a bucket. The object is Pelta shaped, semi-circular in plan with two shallow scoops formed inside this. Between the scoops are the remains of an iron fixing whihc is heavily corroded. The item has a slight bevel all around the edges. Each face is smooth, and the object has an even green patina.
Dimensions: 23.5mm wide and 17mm deep, 4mm thickness, it weighs 7.48g

A late Iron Age to Early Roman copper-alloy swing handle bucket fitting/escutcheon in the shape of a bull's head, dating to c. 100 BC - AD 100. A late Iron Age or early Romano British cast copper-alloy swing handle bucket fitting or vessel escutcheon in the form of a bull's head. The object comprises a stylised bovine head with flanking horns and moulded ears and rounded eyes which are slightly bulbous. Thirty-nine sherds of Iron Age hand-built flint gritted pottery, all body apart from two flat basal, all reduced, many with the external or both surfaces oxidised. The density and sorting of the inclusions are variable, as are their sizes, the largest being c.4mm across, most much smaller. Weight 217g. 8th century BC - mid 1st century AD.

A copper-alloy probable escutcheon (handle attachment) from an Iron Age vessel, c. 100 BC - AD 43.
The escutcheon comprises a moulded and curved front, with a triangular attachment fitting on the reverse, perforated by a single centrally-placed hole. The front of the object is decorated with a raised central rib, concave in shape, and outlined by deep grooves. This central shape is surrounded by four raised, moulded knops (one each at the top, bottom, and either side).
Length: 32.95mm, width: 32.13mm, thickness: 18.5mm1, weight: 15.37g. Cf. SOM-305556 and SOM-41CB43.
