AD 1200-1400) silver Seal Matrix Pendant with an inlaid Roman intaglio .The seal matrix is an oval with a large circular lug for attachment that is set on the top edge of the reverse of the matrix . The reverse has a deep bevelled edge, presumably to accommodate the depth of the bezel, and a flat central panel. A fragmentary and incomplete sub rectangular decorative mount made of silver sheet metal, 24.4mm in length and 0.5mm thick, comprising three fragments with incised decoration to one side (the reverse side within the fold is undecorated). The largest fragment is folded in half across its mid section; the smaller fragments appear to join to one end. The strip overall appears to taper in width; one side edge has a waved or crimp-cut margin, the other appears straight. The frame has a rectangular cross section, 2.1mm wide by 1.4mm thick; both faces have decoration in the form of a single line of pellets running all the way around. A silver medieval continental sterling imitation of Henry VII, King of the Romans (1308-12), minted in Luxembourg (Mayhew 254). Ref: Mayhew 1983: 102. The coin is poorly struck with parts of the inscription indistinct including the beginining of the obverse inscription. The location of the first letter suggests it followed the set of three pellets seen in Mayhew 254.   +:hEnRICV (eagle) S:DEI:GRA obverse depicting a crowned bust facing. A silver Medieval stirrup finger ring with a circular "false setting" or pseudo gem at the apex of the bezel, which is triangular and 6.2mm high. The hoop has a lenticular cross section of 1.3mm thick and an internal diameter of 18.8mm. There is no decoration. The ring has a dark grey-black patina with some cuprous green and brown surface corrosion and a silvery appearance in areas where the metal has been scratched. This suggests the alloy is low grade silver with a relatively high copper content. Length: 28mm; Width: 22mm; Thickness: 4mm; Weight: 3.3g.
