Pottery whistle. Fine oxidized fabric with traces of lead glaze with one copper spot. 42mm long, diameter 11mm, widening slightly to 11 - 13mm at end (irregular in shape). Weight 7.4g. Central hole off-centre, 5mm diameter with three 'radiating' impressed lines. Sound-hole 23mm from end, 9 x 3mm. Mouth hole 4 x 2 mm. Produces a high pitched sound. Late medieval to post-medieval.

Roman ceramic rim sherd of Oxford colour coat mortaria, 57mm long, 34mm wide and 8mm thick and weighs 26.86 grams. The fabric is orange with silver and gold mica inclusions and sparse ironstone. It is a deeper orange/red beneath the surface surrounding a grey core. It has rose quartz trituration grits and any sign of a slip has worn away.

Roman ceramic nene valley colour coat sherds weighing 70grams. Five sherds in total (two photographed) made up of two body sherds with dark brown slip and two base sherds of the same colour. The rim is sub rectangular in section, sloping down towards the body where it is bordered by a very slight cordon.

4 sherds of Roman pottery, Crambeckware or similar, of around 300-400 AD. One sherd is a fragment of a large parchment ware bowl or mortarium with a flanged rim, the fabricis orange and sandy, with a smooth yellowish surface painted with bands of orange/brown. Two sherds are redware, from the side of vessels, of a sandy light-orange fabric with burnished orange/red surfaces with infrequent fine red-brown inclusions. The final sherd is a large section of base of redware or greyware - its core is grey with some large soft inclusions, but othewise is of similar fabric to the previous two…

Five sherds of probable wheel made Oxfordshire red/brown slipped ware pottery of late Roman date. Three are rim sherds and two are base sherds. The sherds have oxidised orange surfaces and light grey reduced cores. The fabric contains abundant mica and sparse sub-angular to sub-rounded iron ore. One of the base sherds has a footring. The same sherd has the remains of a dark reddish-brown slip. One of the rims is plain with a very slight external bead, the second is from a mortarium and the third is from a bowl with an external flange. Total weight: 74.5g

Ceramic head of a woman, possibly Roman. In style, it resembles the faces seen on face-neck flagons of the third to fourth century AD, however the fabric of the object is coarse and is likely to be of building material type rather than vessel fabric. The head has centrally parted hair and is wearing a headdress although the highly abraded nature of the object has obscured the detail of this. Likewise, the features of the face are visible but the detail is lost to abrasion. The anthropomorphic object measures 56mm in length, 49mm maximum width and is 14mm thick.
