A silver denarius of Gordian III (AD 238-244), dating to c. AD 241-4 (Reece Period 12), PROVIDENTIA AVG, Providentia standing left. Mint of Rome. RIC - The style of the coin, traces of green patina and the fact that it is unpublished, suggests that it is a contemporary copy, probably plated. Die axis is 12 o'clock. Weight is 3.24g, diameter is 19.2mm, thickness is 2.2mm.

A fragment from a silver Roman denarius or radiate of 3rd-century date, probably c. 238-249 (Gordian III or Philip I), probably with reverse type 'FORTUNA REDUX', uncertain mint (Reece issue period 12). The fragment is of an irregular shape with jagged edges; it approximates to around a fifth of the original coin.
