A plated forgery of a silver denarius of Elagabalus (AD 218-222). This coin is a copy of the INVICTVS SACERDOS AVG reverse, the original coins of which were minted in Rome and Antioch. For type, see RIC IV, pt 2, p. 34, no. 87. (see also BH-BB6E53). The coin is broken at the edge, revealing the copper-alloy core. The surfaces are slightly worn and corroded. It measures 18.7mm in diameter, 1.7mm thick and weighs 2g.
