An incomplete Roman silver denarius of Vespasian (AD 69-79), probably a contemporary copy, dating to the period c.AD 69-79 (Reece Period 4). PON MAX TR P COS V reverse type depicting Vespasian, togate, seated right on curule chair, feet on stool, holding vertical sceptre in right hand and branch in extended left. Prototype of the mint of Rome. Approximately 30% of the coin is missing between 6-9o'clock when viewed from the obverse side; both faces appear to be slightly double struck.
