Fragment of Roman flue tile, c.AD 43-410. This is a fragment of a rectangular tile with flat faces, with broken edges and corners. The obverse is scored with regular lines to help mortar to adhere to the surface. The breaks around the edges mean that no corners survive that indicate whether this is a wall or floor tile.

An incomplete Roman cast copper alloy Initial T-shaped brooch of Hull T133, Bayley and Butcher, 2004, 159, fig. 127, no. T133, c.AD 50-150. The wings are cylindrical with an axis spindle retaining the pin. The bow ends in an old break, with three moulded oblique lines running down the bow. Most of the bow, the foot, and catchplate are missing. The surface has green patina.

A complete Roman cast copper alloy finger-ring of Henig Type IX (Guiraud type 9a), AD 200-430. The finger-ring is polygonal in profile with seven external facets (heptagonal) and was originally circular, now squashed. The facets are all flat. There are no markings or decoration to be seen.

An early medieval  silver early penny (sceat) of Secondary Phase 'Victory' type (BMC Type 22) dating to c.AD 710-25. Refs: Metcalf 1994: p.440-3, pl. 21 nos 350-1 (esp. 350); Abramson 2006: 32 and 81. The coin is chipped around much of th edge and there is evidene for some copper corrosion on the obverse surface. The coin is very similar in style to one found at Bawsey, Norfolk (Metcalf 1994: p. 442, no 5. Obverse: Winnged, tuniced figure walking right, symbols in front. Reverse: Facing, winged figure standing in a boat-shaped curve, cross beneath each wing.

Copper alloy Roman coin, possibly a limesfalsum copying an as of Antoninus Pius (AD 138-61) or another Antonine emperor.  The reverse is unclear.  That it might be a limesfalsum ('frontier forgery') is shown by the soapy appearance which suggests it is cast, the small module (21-23mm) and the light weight (3.45g).  These coins tend to date to the second quarter of the 3rd century, but cast coins were made earlier so we cannot be sure of a date.
