A fragment of a Medieval silver gilt annular brooch. A small segment of a brooch with alternating knops and recesses. A single complete knop flanked by the edges of the neighbouring recesses is all that remains. The knop is circular and domed and is decorated with ring stamping over the whole surface. What remains of the recesses appear also to be circular and would originally have held stones of some type. The front retains much of its gilding, although there is some wear on the top of the knop. A cast copper alloy Langton Down brooch of early Roman date. The brooch measures 40mm in length and weighs 5.5g. The measurement across the incomplete cylindrical wings is 16.6mm. They conceal the remains of the spring for the missing pin. The bow has a thin rectangular cross section which is consistent throughout its length. An incomplete copper alloy Roman lugged disc plate brooch dating t 100-200 AD. Only the pin is missing. A hinged pin would have been attached to a loop on the back of the disc. Around the disc is a plate with a deeply notched, scalloped edge and ring and dot decoration. The disc is raised forward from this plate, so that there is a circular hollow at the back. An incomplete silver annular brooch. The brooch is oval in shape. It has an inner oval ring with a flat, rectangular cross section and a constriction for the attachment of the pin. A nearly complete copper alloy enamelled Roman symmetrical plate brooch. The brooch is lozenge shaped with four circular lugs on the edge, one at each corner. Each lug has two concentric grooves around its centre. The central lozenge section has one large central cell of the same shape, filled with 16 small blocks of millefiori. An incomplete cast copper-alloy Colchester one-piece brooch of early Roman date. The surviving part of the brooch measures 33.4mm by 11.4mm by 13.3mm and weighs 2.6g. It comprises the crossbar (one side of which is damaged), the rearward hook which kept the incomplete chord in place, the curving bow and about half of the spring. The bow is plain and tapers to a point. Very little of the catchplate survives.

A cast copper-alloy Roman T-shaped brooch of initial type dated to later 1st to mid-2nd century AD. The brooch survives quite well, only having suffered some post-depositional damage and the loss of its pin. The head has tubular wings, each with a terminal ridge. There is a further ridge either side of the wide head. A silver annular brooch or buckle. The frame is circular in cross section and undecorated. The pin has a shallow oval cross section and tapers to a point. At the attachment end is an expanded knop decorated with stamped rings. It is attached by hooking the end around the frame. There is no constriction in the frame where the pin is attached. Date: Medieval - 13th to 14th century Dimensions: 20.32 mm x 1.87 mm Weight: 1.93 g Consequently, in terms of age and as the object contains a minimum of 10% precious metal it qualifies as Treasure under the stipulations of the Treasure Act 1996.

Oval enamelled plate brooch with a recess for a paste intaglio. Flat outer band framing a concentric band of enamel (traces of red remain). This in turn frames a concentric band of copper alloy around the recessed setting at the centre. The back is flat and undecorated. Copper alloy Hod Hill brooch. The axis bar for the missing hinged pin (only stub remains) is housed in short folded wings. The head constricts sharply from the wings and flares out again into the bow. The upper part of the bow is tapering and fluted. Part way down is a rib and groove cross moulding dividing the upper bow from the leg. The leg is lozenge shaped and decorated with stamped dots. At the base is a projecting foot. AT the back is a large catchplate extending form the cross moulding to the foot.

Copper alloy brooch. Rosette derivative. Pin missing. The cylindrical cover for the spring mechanism is now bent open. The upper part of the bow is decorated with longitudinal ribs. In the middle is a small sub -oval, rosette-style plate. The leg of the bow continues below this . It is decorated with four ribs. The bow is broken and bent forwards at the end. There are traces of a catchplate at the back. Define as a "mature type" in Hattatt 1989.
