A small fragment from a possible gold ingot, this object is difficult to date with any certainty without more precise information from the context from which it came, if any. It is probably of prehistoric date and was found in an area well known for both its Neolithic and Early Bronze Age monuments and a series of Iron Age settlements. As such, this item is more than likely a prehistoric object, older than 300 years, and is therefore probably Treasure.

Fragment of a devotional plaque A fragment of a double-sided plaque, cast on one side with a possible Madonna and child, and on the other a scene with three saints. The item is possibly a Catholic devotional token, not necessarily English in origin, judging by the Madonna figure's veil and cloak. The plaque has three surviving projecting knops. The object is probably of silver, but as the style and facture suggest a post-1706 date, possibly 19th century or later, the object is not thought to qualify as Treasure under the stipulations of the Treasure Act 1996.

A corroded and incomplete late early-medieval cast copper-alloy harness link (11th century AD). The object consists of a central plate with boss, though one half of the plate beyond the boss, along with its loop, have been lost. The arm is semicircular in cross-section, with a flat reverse. At one end of this is a moulded boss extending either side of the plate. It represents a face, probably zoomorphic rather than anthropomorphic. Just protruding above the plate are a pair of pointed ears. Below the plate is the nose and the lopsided V-shaped mouth. The nose is moulded, triangular, a…

A cast copper-alloy artefact of 11th-century date, probably a strap fitting. The object is a ring with a thick hoop and convex crude quatrefoil bezel. The quatrefoil head is perpendicular to the hoop. It is decorated with four triangular grooves arranged in saltire, but not meeting at the centre. The quatrefoil thus created has longer elements in line with the hoop than those perpendicular to it; its rendering is quite crude. The artefact is now a red-brown colour, covered in patches of light-green corrosion product The artefact can be paralleled to a strap slide/loop found looped…
