A complete Early Bronze Age copper-alloy low flanged developed axehead.  The axehead is sub rectangular in cross section and has a shallow lenticular side profile. It has a rounded and arched butt and slightly diverging sides that abruptly expand to a broad crescentic blade and cutting edge, with the blade tips at right angles to the sides, but not recurving. A fragment of a Middle Bronze Age copper alloy palstave dating circa 1500-1150 BC. The fragment consists of the crescentic cutting edge and lower blade. The upper body terminates in a worn and irregular rectangular break. The solid cross-section and the mid rid on both sides suggests the object is a palstave rather than a socketed axehead.   The object measures 61.9 mm in length, 63.5 mm in width (across blade), 27.9 mm wide (across the body). The brooch is fragmentary, represented by the head only and is comparatively small (with a surviving length of 15.0mm, a surviving depth of 7.5mm and a weight of 3.0g). Medieval copper alloy seal matrix, circular with an off-set loop in its back. On its face is the figure of a Lion Rampant holding between its forepaw a 'garb' (sheaf) of wheat. The inscription reads *SIGILLV(M) COMMVNE VILLE DE MACCLESFELD, or common seal of the town of Macclesfield, the lion and garb being long associated with the town. A copper-alloy Roman provincial coin, probably a tetradrachm (or similar) of Hadrian (AD 117-138) or possibly Trajan (AD 98-117), dating to the period c.AD 117-138 (Reece period 6). Reverse type depicting Zeus standing left holding vertical sceptre, an eagle at his feet left(?). Mint of Alexandria. This is a large Roman provincial bronze coin struck at the mint of Alexandria. It's patina, combined with its findspot in a garden several years ago, suggest it is quite possible this is not an ancient loss.

The brooch has one small wing (the other is missing) and a large domed solid head. The bow becomes thin and pointed towards its end. The brooch does not appear decorated. It is corroded with a dark green patina and there is evidence of some limited decoration at the junction of the head with the bow.
