A complete Early Bronze Age copper-alloy low flanged developed axehead.  The axehead is sub rectangular in cross section and has a shallow lenticular side profile. It has a rounded and arched butt and slightly diverging sides that abruptly expand to a broad crescentic blade and cutting edge, with the blade tips at right angles to the sides, but not recurving. A fragment of a Middle Bronze Age copper alloy palstave dating circa 1500-1150 BC. The fragment consists of the crescentic cutting edge and lower blade. The upper body terminates in a worn and irregular rectangular break. The solid cross-section and the mid rid on both sides suggests the object is a palstave rather than a socketed axehead.   The object measures 61.9 mm in length, 63.5 mm in width (across blade), 27.9 mm wide (across the body). It consists of a central spherical element that has ten evenly spaced raised vertical ribs. Either side is a terminal that presents a single plastic moulded swirl that is mirrored on the reverse. It's patina, combined with its findspot in a garden several years ago, suggest it is quite possible this is not an ancient loss.
