A lead alloy token of Elizabeth I (1558-1603), struck c. 1574 (North 1991: 140, ref: 2063). North comments: ‘There exist a number of lead or pewter pieces which have in the past been described as patterns or tokens. It is more probable however that they were political medalets or counters, as some would appear to relate to Mary, Queen of Scots, and the workmanship on most is rather crude. They are normally found in London, and were struck about 1574 (North 1991: 140).

A complete cast lead or lead alloy circular double-sided token of post-Medieval to Modern date (c. 1500-c. 1850). The token has a raised initial letters: T (or I) C on one side and a raised grid pattern on the other side. Diameter: 16.5mm; weight: 2.56g. Lead tokens had a wide variety of uses and were made locally, they are therefore hard to date precisely but those with initials are thought to date c.1500-1850 AD.
