A cast white metal sheet button. The front face shows a fouled anchor while the reverse has no visible markings. This form of button was worn by the Kriegsmarine during the Second World War. The Kriegsmarine was the navy of Nazi Germany from 1935 - 1945. The button was found on the site of a former World War II Prisoner of War Camp. It is reported that crew members of captured German U-Boats were held on the camp. A similar object is recorded at HESH-4DE54A. Diameter: 21.0mm, Thickness: 3.7mm. Weight: 1.2gm.

A complete copper alloy ram-rod of modern date (AD 1800-1900). The object is complete with no indication of breaks and is composed of a single, solid piece of metal which has possibly been machine worked to achieve its shape. The upper end is bell shaped and tapers towards the integral shaft, this is circular in section and has a single raised, circumferentially running aspect located approximately half way along the shaft. Early Modern copper alloy pendant. tear-shaped with a small globular projection at its lower end. Mould joint lines left from the casting process run down each of its sides. On its upper end is a 3.8mm diameter, integrally cast, suspension ring. This is separated from the main part of the pendant by a group of small, scrolled mouldings. The pendant is best interpreted as part of an earring and can be paralleled by the more highly decorated pendant LANCUM-9EC2B7 which was assigned to an eighteenth century date. An incomplete cast lead fabric weight of modern date. The weight is circular with a flat rectangular cross-section. A small part of the weight has been lost to old worn breaks. There are two parallel perforations through which the weight would have been attached. The metal is a mid greyish-white colour and is worn. The weight is 33.8mm in diameter, 3.2mm thick and weighs 26.6g. Despite their resemblance to large plain buttons, that these objects are in fact weights used to weigh down the hems of curtains or the hems of ladies' dresses. They are still available to buy new today.

Oval plate one face of which is covered with opaque red glass which bears, in intaglio, the bust of a man, few details of which survive. The underside of the plate is slightly hollowed. This intaglio is best seen as coming from a 19th century seal.

Cast copper alloy buckle, annular D sectioned with a flattened inner face. The upper edge bears a circumferential recessed band which contains a row of raised pellets. This face has been gilded. On the back of the buckle are two raised areas showing where the buckle bar had been fitted.

Cast copper alloy button, domed, hollow underside containing a 5.8mm diameter loop cast or soldered into place. This is crushed and now lies parallel to the button's back. The face of the button bears a recessed panel which contains, in relief, three cannon, set in a vertical column. Above them is band containing three bezants separated by stacks of cannon balls. The underside bore an inscription, now damaged by corrosion but the letters '..I LL.......ARP...can be read which must represent part of the manufacturer's name.

This ring formed of a flat band of yellow-coloured metal which expands towards the centre and overlaps at the ends is engraved at the front with a crude lozenge and diagonal lines. In general rings with overlapping ends are 20th century. There is no evidence to suggest that this ring is more than 300 years old. J. Rudoe British Museum 23.7.08
