An incomplete copper alloy transverse wing terret dating to the Iron Age (c.100 cal BC - AD 100). About one third of the ring survives.
The surviving fragment is made up of a circular cross sectioned bar bent into a curve that would have originally being circular or D-shaped in Plan. There are two surviving prominent mouldings, one placed just after a break, another at the apex of the surviving curve and traces of a moulding at the second transverse break. A complete Iron Age copper alloy brooch of the La Tene I type dating to the 4th - 3rd century B.C. ' Wessex' Type, Hull's Type 1A. The brooch has a strongly arched faceted bow with a diamond-shaped cross section.. The top of the arch extends to form the tightly coiled spring with an axis bar and arched mock-spring. A late Iron Age cast copper-alloy Flat Linear potin (Class I) of the Kent region / Cantiaci, dating to the period c. 105-90 BC. Obverse: Linear head of naturalistic form left, pellet eye, pellet and crescent ear, two lines for mouth, and head terminating with a curl. An incomplete Middle Iron Age copper alloy brooch of La Tène I and of Hull & Hawkes (1987: 95-106) type 1Ba, dating to the 4th or 3rd century BC.
The one-piece brooch is missing both its spring and its pin. The arched bow is D-shaped in section, being flat on the back and convex on the front. It has a maximum width of 5.87mm and thickness of 4.26mm. It is decorated down its length with a column of punched dots framed by a vertical line on either side.
