An early Medieval to Medieval ceramic assemblage of 16 coarseware vessel sherds found in a walled garden, possibly Saxo-Norman dating c. 950-1100. The sherds are largely reduced dark brown to mid grey with oxidised surfaces. Tempered with abundant and poorly sorted coarse inclusions including abundant angular flint and quartz with occasional shell. All are body sherds with one possible base sherd; (Column 1 no: 2). A Post Medieval rim fragment of a ceramic glazed ware, a charger or platter probably of Metropolitan slipped ware dating c. 1630 -1700. The fragment comprises a rim sherd, trapezoidal in plan with a beaded rim projecting on both external and internal sides. The sandy fabric is oxidised orange with a slightly paler yellow core and abundant well sorted rounded quartz inclusions. A vessel fragment of a Medieval green glazed jug dating c. AD 1250-1500. The body sherd comprises the base of the integral handle. The breaks around the walls are worn with an unworn break on the handle which has an oval cross-section. The fabric is hard and sandy with no inclusions, it has a grey core and orange surfaces, the internal wall is has been brushed with a white slip and the external surfaces are decorated in a green glaze with brown spotting. An incomplete roman ceramic sandy grey coarseware vessel, probably a small jar dating c. AD43-410.  Only the base survives comprising a circular foot ring which damage around the rim and a concave centre. Above the foot ring the vestigial remains of the walls survive with worn breaks with a slightly raised convex circular area in the base of the interior of the vessel. A large fragment of a Roman floor tile with paw print dating AD43-410. The tile fragment is rectangular with one flat even surface and one irregular. One long edge of the tile appears to be original with the three other edges comprising worn breaks.
