A worn, Post-medieval silver 4 sols piece of Louis XIV (AD 1643-1715). Mint of Lyon.  Obverse description: Unclear due to severe wear, probable laureate bust facing right. Unclear legend. Reverse description: D mint mark in centre of fleur de lis cross, D[O]MINE [SALVVM] FAC REGEM [H] There is a crack in the coin running vertically from approximately 5 o'clock on the flan (viewed from the obverse). The coin is also slightly bent, probably due to damage that occurred post deposition.  Measurements: Diameter, 19.15mm; Thickness, 0.51mm; Weight, 1.00g.

A complete and worn post medieval silver coin, apparently deliberately polished and bent, possibly to form a love-token. The coin is polished to the point it is mostly illegible, but it is probably a sol-piece of Louis XIV of France (AD 1643 - 1715), minted at Paris and dating to the period 1691 - 1699. The obverse is mostly illegible, the legend may have been over-struck. DG FR can be seen, and the laureate and draped head of probably Louis XIV facing right.
