Copper alloy Medieval french jetton, struck in Tournai, dating 1461-1497.The jetton is in good condition, however the reverse legend is unclear. Similar to Mitchiner 601-601. The obverse legend reads VIVE LE ROI VIVE LE ROI. The reverse legend is unclear. Mitchener does not have a direct parallel for this jetton. The obverse legend of this jetton does not feature on the 'three circles' of Tournai jettons inMitchener, however it is found on similar jettons with lis within a lozenge, rather than individual circles.

Copper alloy jetton, probably of Louis XI (1461-1483) of France, bent and very worn, with XI on obverse, which is not usual, but may relate to the King, or it may have been overstamped later with XIII, as the original legends are missing. What is visible on the reverse resembles jettons produced during the reign of Louis XI and Charles VIII (1483-1497) of France. Mint of Tournai or Paris.
