A group of 10 medieval cooking pot sherds consisting of 3 rim sherds and 7 body sherds.
Of the rim sherds, all have grey unoxidised exterior and interior surfaces, and all have brown/purple core. The smallest of these sherds has bright orange colouring at the rim towards the inner surface. All contain moderate to sparse inclusions that are pale or white in colour, as well as moderate to abundant inclusions of mica and moderate to sparse quartz inclusions. All three have rough, gritty fabrics, particularly the two larger sherds.

A series of semi-circular stamps, each arc enclosing a dot and so resembling halved ring-and-dot, passes along the outer borders of the central stalk, follows the edges of the troughs on either side, and ascends the inner side of the outer elements. A medieval rim sherd. The colour of the sherd is inconsistent: the salmon inner surface is the most uniform in colour, and the margins are mostly grey save for the top of the rim which is also salmon-coloured. The outer surface has areas of salmon as well as grey, but also features two distinct areas of green glaze which retains its sheen. The fabric is largely abraded and contains abundant grey inclusions as well as quartz. Mica inclusions are more sparsely visible. On the inner surface towards the top of the rim and the margin there is a significant void of 6.1mm in length.…

The beaded dots or pellets are mostly square in shape but irregular, and do not appear machine made; they seem to result from the use of a rectangular punch which made two pellets at a time. The beaded lines are separated from the centre of the hoop by a narrow ridge, and the centre is undecorated and slightly sunken. There is no decoration on the inner surface.

A complete large lead alloy uni-face token of later Medieval to Post-Medieval date, circa AD 1400-1800.
The token is circular in plan. The obverse is decorated with a central cross in light relief and a pellet in each quarter, representing Powell type 14b (Crosses). The reverse is flat and undecorated. The token has a brown/grey coloured patina across both surfaces.
Measurements: diameter 23.4mm, thickness 3.2mm, weight 7.1 grams.
