Perforated stone spindle whorl or net weight of unknown date – probably Mesolithic – Modern (6500 BC – 1800 AD). The stone used to make the artefact is a micaceous sandstone which is a mid brown grey colour. The weight is irregular being broadly sub-circular in plan and D shaped in cross section. The central hole is drilled from both ends, is broadly circular in shaped and waisted (egg-timer) in cross section. The maximum diameter of the hole measures 8.4mm.
