A complete medieval or post medieval cast lead alloy circular uniface token, c. AD 1250-1800, Powell Class 14. The obverse is decorated with with a raised equal armed cross, with a pellet in each quarter, all enclosed in a raised line border. The reverse is undecorated. Lead tokens had a wide variety of uses and were made locally; they are therefore hard to date precisely and could be medieval or post medieval in date. Until recently cross and pellet designs were thought to be contemporary with the similar medieval coin designs; however publication of moulds and double faced tokens…

One side bears two letters (possibly 'RS' or 'RC'), whilst the other side has a design in relief of a six-petalled flower head, with a single pellet visible in one of the fields. The token measures 18.8mm in diameter, 2.8mm thick and weighs 7.57g.
