Very small medieval strap-end formed from one rectangular piece of copper alloy sheet folded widthways and secured by one rivet which sits amongst three lightly engraved transverse lines near the attachment edge. Weight 0.62g.  Length 14.3mm. Width 8.3mm. 14th century.

Medieval copper alloy composite tongue-shaped strap-end with a full-width spacer fitting, a rivet near the pointed end or knop and a rivet hole near the attachment edge. The spacer does not appear to extend into the knop. The external faces of the sheet plates are white-metal coated. Weight 1.22g. Length  22.2mm (length of the gap for the strap 11mm). An incomplete and bent cast copper alloy strap end of medieval date, c. AD 1150-1500. The object is a single sheet from possibly a double sheet strap end. It is rectangular shaped with two holes for rivets at either end. The plate is decorated with an outer linear frame. Running the length of one edge are engraved zigzag lines sat between almost parrallel lines. A  copper-alloy strap end of Medieval date about AD 1270 - 1400. It is a three piece composite strap end with a forked spacer.  One outer plate has a diagonal break exposing the forked spacer. Part of the woven fabric strap survives between the forks of the spacer. Pale fibres can be seen sandwiched between the plates. The strap end is sub-rectangular, tapering to a pointed closed end with a small rounded knop in the centre.
