An incomplete copper-alloy strap end of Early-Medieval date, c.AD 750 - 950. The strap end is of Thomas' Class A, Type 2 with patterned decoration. An incomplete cast copper-alloy strap end dating to the late early-medieval period, c. AD 1000-1100. The object consists of a flat sub-trapezoidal plate with a projecting shaft, terminating with a split end joined by a small pin. The edges of the plate are worn with breaks marking areas which are now lost. The shaft is thicker and decorated with unclear ridges which extend diagonally down the sides of the shaft. A complete copper-alloy strap end of medieval date, c.AD 1150 - 1450. The object is a composite strap end comprising a forked spacer with a sub-rectangular sheet plate fitted to each side. The sides of the spacer and plates taper slightly to a rounded terminal with knoped protrusion. The attachment end is fluted. Both plates appear undecorated.
