A gold Iron Age Stater of the North Thames Region of Cunobelin, in very good condition, dating to the period AD 10-40. 'Cunobelinus Classic' type; ABC 2796 / VA 2025.
I strongly suspect that this is a stray from a previously discovered coin hoard (see IARCH-52EBCD / BERK-5F0997). It is also possible that the rare coin of Caesar BERK-DD0347 is also related, but this is less certain. A. Byard February 2022.

The metal of the coin is gold. It weighs 5.37 grammes, and has axes of 16.5 and 16.6 millimetres. The obverse has an ear of corn with central stalk dividing the legend CAM.
