A complete, copper cored, gold, Bronze Age, penannular ring, 1800-1000BC. The ring is is penannular with a small gap between the terminals, which are flat. The ring is circular in cross section. A complete Late Bronze Age gold-plated penannular ring with a near-circular cross section. Damage on one of the terminals shows that the ring has been plated but the nature of the core is unclear (although it is likely to be copper alloy on the ground of known comparanda). There is no sign of banding in differential shades of gold, this being a common form of decoration on similar rings. Dimensions: Diameter 13.9mm; thickness 4.2mm; weight 2.77g.
