The object is composed of a rectangular cross sectioned band which has been distorted, likely by post-depositional processes. The band expands to raised shoulders and pentagonal bezel which are hollow due to the object’s construction from a folded sheet of gold. The bezel has bevelled edges, with a lower pentagonal linear boarder and is formed by a hollow collet within which is set a red gem (likely garnet), which is irregularly shaped and smooth. An incomplete gold finger ring of Post-Medieval date, c. 1750 - 1900 AD.
Description: The ring is in the style of a stirrup ring, sub-circular in plan with the bezel, shoulders and half of the hoop surviving. The hoop and shoulders are shown by a seam to be created from two separate plates, creating a hollow space between them. Description: The exterior surface of the band is plain and undecorated. The inscription, which runs around the internal circumference, is in lower case italic and reads "A's true to thee as death to mee". The inscription is followed by the maker's mark 'WI' in a shield. The ring is in the original form but the band shows some nicks.

A gold later medieval or early post medieval gem-set ring with a square or box bezel. The bezel is set into the hoop and is 4.2mm wide. The setting is 1.5mm deep but has lost the stone, which would have been held in place by the ridged sides of the box and would have been either cabochon or possibly table cut. A complete gold finger ring (signet) of post-medieval date (c.1550-1625).
Description: The hoop of the ring is D-shped in cross-section and widens at the shoulders to meet a flat, oval bezel. The bezel is engraved with a heraldic griffin rampant within a single-lined border. A second, corded border surrounds this. There are no maker's mark present but the reverse of the bezel and the inside of the hoop has some file marks.
