A gold post medieval double crown of James I dating to AD1604-1619.  IACOBVS D G MA' BR[IT] FRA HIB REX depicting a crowned bust (fifth bust) facing right.  The coin has been bent and is damaged.  HENRICVS ROSAS REGNA IACOBVS reverse type depicting a crowned square shield with I R on either side.    Mint of London.  North (1991) vol 2, p 145, North 2088/2089.

A Post-Medieval gold double-crown of James I, AD 1603-1625. The obverse shows a crowned bust right. The obverse initial mark is a crescent. The obverse legend reads IACOBVS.'D.'G.'MA.'BRI.'FRAN.'ET.'HIB.'REX. The reverse shows a royal shield surmounted by a crown. The reverse initial mark is a crescent (dating the coin to AD 1617-1618). The reverse legend reads HENRICVS.ROSAS.REGNA.IACOBVS. Die axis is either 7 or 8 o'clock. This coin was found in a bent condition.
