An incomplete Post-Medieval (AD 1730-1760) rectangular debased silver shoe buckle, with a drilled frame to hold a separate pin or spindle (now lost). The frame fragment is L-shaped in plan, comprising one rounded corner with about 3/4 of the adjacent long side and a short section of the adjacent short side, and is slightly curved to accommodated the curvature of the foot. An incomplete and worn post medieval silver groat or halfgroat of Mary I (1553-1558). C.f. North (1991) Vol II, p. 126, no. 1960-1961. Obverse is completely worn but possibly would have had a crowned bust left. Small annular mark visible on the obverse. Reverse is also completely worn, possibly had the legend VERITAS TEMPORIS FILIA and a long cross fourchée over a royal shield. Partial remains of a line of the cross visible and the 'T' in the legend.
