An incomplete, broken in two, copper-alloy Anglo-Scandinavian or Early Mediaeval cheekpiece dating to the 11th century. At both ends there are a lozenge shaped loops with a knop at each outer corner and an oval hole in the centre. The fitting has a central modelled zoomorphic design surrounding a central hole for the bit, depicting a dog, an old break is in the centre of the loop. The obverse surface of the harness is bevelled with a semicircular cross section whilst the reverse is plain and undecorated. A flower-like sexfoil mount copper-alloy sheeting, faceted, domed with one integral rivet (one of which is missing due to old breaks in the sheeting), dating to the 14th Century, similar examples can be found in Egan and Pritchard, 1991, pg 189, plate 119). An incompletecopper-alloy disc brooch of Early-Medieval/Anglo-Saxon date. It is missing its pin and parts of the outer edge of the plate. The plate is disc shaped in form with decoration on its front face. A complete cast copper-alloy buckle frame with integral plate of Medieval date. The buckle frame is oval in shape (although bent at a 45 degree angle to the plate - presumably post depositional damage), with two projections on both sides on the plate as it develops into the frame. The tapering plate has a hole for a (now missing) pin, and terminates with two semi-circular knops. An incomplete flat disc lead seal matrix of Medieval date, missing a suspension loop. The outer face/die is decorated with the central design of a a flower, flaring at it's lower end into a triangular shape, with three curving leaf-like motifs. This is surrounded by a solid line inner circle followed by the inscription +S IOIH' hENR'  FIL ALEXAVD, perhaps reading Seal of John Henry Son of Alexander? The simple motif and personalised legend suggests a 13th century date (Harvey & McGuiness 1996, 87-8).  Diameter: 30.47mm Weight: 28.52g

The die is circular in plan and is engraved with a two pronged curving lines creating a stylised fleur de lis, and underneath three parallel lines and a letter E. A fragment of a copper-alloy late Iron Age brooch of a possible Kragenfibel rosette type (Mackreth, 2011, pg 28). It is very corroded, making typogology difficult. The wing shape suggests a coil spring, although missing, and the bow seems to have a seperate plate, which is mostly corroded away. It is decorated with longnitudinal lines. The reverse is flat, with a small D shaped bow. It appears similar to examples in Mackreth, 2011, pg 19, plate 16, 5799, 5807, 13755 Length: 28.86mm Width: 18.57mm Weight: 5.80g

A fragment of a Roman copper-alloy finger ring dating to circa AD 43-200. The extant piece consists of the bezel and a portion of one of the shoulder. The bezel is circular, internally cast and raised from the apex of the ring. It has a central recessed area which would have contained a gemstone setting, now missing.
