An incomplete Roman copper alloy gilded plate brooch. The plate is oval in shape with an oval recess in the centre surrounded by a raised rim where black glass remains. Around the outside of the recess there is a flattened border containing a ring of incised X shapes. To the reverse are the remains of an incomplete catchplate and raised rib for the pin attachment.  Brooches of this form were gilded with an engraved stone or glass gem set in the centre. A complete lead steelyard weight of possible Roman date. It is biconical in shape with the corroded remains of an iron rod protruding from either end, with one suspension loop intact. The surface of the metal is heavily corroded. Although steelyard weights were in use from the Roman to post-medieval periods, biconical examples with iron extending from both ends tend to be of Roman date. A complete Medieval to Post Medieval lead-alloy spindle whorl dating to circa AD 1100-1550. It is broadly circular in plan and plano-convex in section. The central hole is circular with an internal diameter of 8.65mm. The piece is heavily worn. Spindle whorls can be hard to date accurately as they remained in use for a long period of time.  The weight of the spindle whorl is suggestive of a thick linen or wool fibre being spun, as there is a direct relationship between the weight of the whorl and the thickness of the resulting thread. An incomplete copper-alloy Medieval non-armorial harness pendant. It is worn,and  broadly crescent shaped, with an extant harness suspension loop. There is some visible decoration in the form of stamped circular dots, creating a lozenge shape. An incomplete cast copper-alloy signet ring dating to the Medieval period. The finger ring has a D-sectioned band which is broken, with just one shoulder remaining. The oval bezel measures 13.70 x 10.7mm. The bezel is decorated with incised decoration consisting of a crowned capital I flanked by palm fronds. They date from the 15th - early 16th century AD. It weighs 2.87g.

An incomplete Medieval copper-alloy buckle plate. It is a rectangular shaped plate with a small circular hole through the bottom right corner, the upper right corner has remains of an in-situ copper-alloy rivet. The inner edge has the remains of two attachment loops projecting from the centre.The outer face is decorated with a possible dragon with wings spreading out the the upper corner.  It has a brown-green patina.

A complete copper-alloy buckle dating to the Medieval period. It has a kidney shaped frame, most closely resembling a Meols type 2, D shaped frame. Attached to the buckle is a short, rectangular buckle plate. The bar is offset and narrowed with a copper-alloy strip wrapped around the bar, forming the pin. The surface of the plate is decorated with diagonal dots within a dotted border. The plate has one in-situ copper-alloy rivet in the centre of the rectangle. An incomplete cast copper-alloy Medieval buckle frame and plate. The buckle frame resembles a Meols type 2, D shaped buckle, dating to AD 1250-1350. The frame has a flat, expanded outer edge, with engraved transverse grooves. The frame has a narrowed and offset bar with an in-situ copper-alloy pin.  The buckle plate is square with four in-situ copper-alloy rivets and one hole where the rivet would have been. A fragment from a copper-alloy socketed axehead of Bronze Age date. Only the socket end of the axe remains, and it has post-depositional damage. It is broadly trapezoidal in shape, and is hollow. At the socket end the rim in thickened. Along one outer edge is the remains of a longitudinal casting seam.There is a similar example recorded on the PAS database (SF-CA59D7). This socket measures 43.02mm in length, 47.15mm in width, 4.77m in thickness, 47.86g in weight.
