An extremely Medieval French Jetton dating to c.15th centuries AD, probably a Tournai stock issue dating to c. 1415-c. 1497, but probably struck after 1478. (obverse as Mitchiner 1988, 223, ref: 651). The obverse carries a crown within a wire line circle, surrounded by the legend AVE MARIA GRACIA PL ERA DN On the reverse is a double-voided cross fleuretty within a double tressure of four arches. In the centre of the cross is a voided quatrefoil and there is a flower of three petals in each of the angles. The letters A-V-E-M are within the corners.

A Late Medieval to Post Medieval copper alloy jetton struck in Tournai, circa 1497-1521. Obverse: four lis in a lozenge within a four-arched tressure, trefoils in the spandrels. Reverse: cross patty. Legends illegible, probably illiterate. As Mitchiner 726-729. These jettons were struck mainly in Tournai during the reign of Louis XII (1497-1515) but also struck during the reign of Francis I (1515-1547) up to the year 1521 when Tournai was occupied by Charles V.

A complete copper-alloy Medieval jetton, probably of the Low Countries under Burgundy, issued by Philip le Bon dating to the period c. AD 1419 - 1467. Burgundian "steel and flints" issue. Corroded and worn, the obverse is probably steel above three flints; sparks on left and burning kindle stick on right.  The reverse: Short cross pattee with leafy ends, trefoil between each arm. Similar to examples illustrated in: Mitchner, M, 1988, p. 255, no. 795 - 797.
