An incomplete copper-alloy double-headed button and loop fastener of Roman date, c.AD 43-200. The head is pointed ovate with a central raised circular boss within a deep circumferential recess. The pointed terminal has a slight raised lenticular moulding which tapers into the point. An integral shank extends down from the reverse of the boss and bends at 90 degrees where it widens into a second head. The orientation of the shank results in the heads being on different plains. A complete bead made from translucent dark blue glass, dating to the Roman period around AD 50-200. The bead is circular in plan with a central hole (annular). It has a flat top and bottom. The inner surface is smooth and the outer surface is adorned with regular longitudinal (transverse) ridges and grooves (gadroons) providing a distinctive ridged appearance. A complete copper-alloy harness fitting terret ring of late Iron Age to Roman date, c.100 BC - AD 100. The terret is of the 'simple' type, comprising an ovate basal strap bar flanked by circular collars. A copper alloy fragment of a Middle or Late Bronze Age dirk or rapier dating from the Penard phase, about 1300 BC - 1140 BC. Only the butt end survives. The rapier or dirk is would have had a blade likely to be about 300mm long which would have originally tapered to a fine point.  The blade is a shallow oval in cross-section (characteristic of Group 4 rapiers) and bevelled. The object is composed of an oval shaped bezel, set with undecorated blue glass enamel, from which narrowing plain shoulders extend to either side. The band continues to narrow to the reverse and loops completely. There is no decoration visible on the band of the object. The metal is dark green in colour with a worn smooth patina. A lead possible spindle whorl which probably dates from the Iron Age date, about 800 BC - AD 50. If it is a spindle whorl, it is of Walton Rogers Form C1 which has no flat faces and curved sides. A copper alloy Late Iron Age La Tène III Nauheim progentitor type, dating to c. 50BC-AD50. Overall the brooch has a dark green patina with some flecks of original copper surface surviving. At the head is an intergral 5 coiled spring and an internal chord running underneath it. The spring shows no sign of iron corrosion so it does not appear to have an iron axis bar. The bow is a smooth extension of the wire which is somewhat thicker and has a raised ridge down the face. This leads to a catch plate with a tiny kick at the foot.
