A medieval silver gilt demi-gros of John II of Avesnes, the Count of Hainaut (AD 1280 - 1307), mint of Valenciennes. The coin has been re-used as a brooch or dress accessory with soldered attachments in the form of a hook and small loop on the obverse of the coin. The reverse is gilded, with the inscription reading, MONATA VALENCENENSIS SIGNVM CVRCIS with a small cross pattee in the centre. The obverse reads JOHANNES COMES HAIN and shows a rider in armour on a horse galloping left, wearing a helmet, holding reins and a shield in his left hand and a standard in his right hand.

A complete copper alloy post medieval shoe or knee buckle (c. AD 1200 - 1500). The buckle is made up of a single D shaped loop, with a triangular pierced decorative outer edge. The decoration is fairly crude and consists of a series of pierced circular holes along a slightly scalloped edge, with a number of incised lines. The pin is extant and still attached to the pin bar.

An incomplete copper alloy medieval, zoomorphic barrel lock or padlock in the shape of a horse (c. AD 1100 - 1400). The horse's head is depicted with bridle comprising three transverse grooves across the forehead and a raised line across each cheek and around the back of the head. The mouth of the animal is formed by a sub-circular hole, running through the head and opening on the back of the neck of the animal. A complete post medieval cast copper alloy casket key dating to c. AD 1500 - 1700. The bow is kidney-shape with bevelled inside edges and two internal projections. At the base of the projections on the opposite side of the bow bar extends a circular sectioned stem with a single collar followed by a triple collar. The rest of the stem tapers towards a slightly rounded terminal and is plainly finished. Towards the end of the stem projecting out at right angles, is an integral rectangular flat bit with no clefts or wards.

A complete, crude, sheet copper alloy medieval casket key (c. AD 1100 - 1300). The key has been formed by folding over a piece of thin sheet metal, with the bow end flattened and an off-centre circular perforation punched through. The bow is semi circular in shape.The stem tapers down from the bow to the simple, single ward. The hollow stem, formed by folding the sheet until the edges meet around a former, is roughly circular in section. The edges of the folded metal are visible along the inside of the key.

A complete early medieval, Anglo-Saxon, copper alloy annular brooch, dating to c. AD 475 - 575. The frame is flat with a slightly chamfered edge on the inner and outer edges. The frame is circular, with a small constriction for the pin which is still in situ. The obverse is stamped with irregularly spaced ring and dot motifs. The reverse is plain. Similar to HAMP-1473BE.

A complete post medieval copper alloy, finger ring (c. AD 1550 - 1800). The ring has been decorated with a series of engraved lines; diagonal slashes with smaller dashes producing a feathered effect and saltaires. Some traces of red enamel remain. The internal surface is undecorated. The outer surface is bowed. The ring is intact, but slightly distorted.

A medieval copper alloy harness pendant (c. AD 1200 - 1450), in the form of a cross, with a lozengiform central boss from which extends four round, flat-backed lobes. The suspension lug extends from the apex of one of the lobes and is turned through 90 degrees to the main body of the object. It terminates in an old break and houses the lower part of a drilled hole. There is no evidence of metal coating or any other decoration. The suspension loop is broken. A hole has been punched through the central boss.

A complete, copper alloy harness mount of medieval to post medieval date (c. AD 1350 - 1550). The mount is in the shape of a heater shield, slightly convex. Decoration is a lion rampant depicted in red enamel, occupying the whole field. There are two small rivet holes, one on the top edge and the second in the point of the shield.

A copper alloy finger ring in the form of a coiled snake, probably of post medieval date (c. AD 1600 - 1800). The copper tapered band coils round one and a half times on itself. The narrowest, pointed (although damaged) end sits on top of the wider, possible body/head section of the snake. This end is rounded and the band is plain. A similar ring is described in record BERK-1CA32F.

A Roman copper alloy, oval plate brooch with oval central flange, which would have contained a glass or intagilio setting, now missing (c. AD 200 - 410). The plate has a raised edge and the flat space between the setting and the edge is tool marked with a band of small nicks/hatching. The front is gilded and the back has traces of a white metal coating. Perforated lug and part of catch plate present on back; pin missing.

A fragment of a cast copper alloy handle from a vessel, possibly of Roman date (c. AD 43 - 410). The fragment has a convex underside, the upper surface has a central concave trough flanked by incised lines. In profile it has a shallow arch, and in plan it tapers from 28.9 mm to 20.4 mm. Both ends terminate in old breaks. 9 mm before the wider end, spurs or lugs emerge, one is broken off leaving only a slight stub, the other protrudes for 11 mm before ending in a break. A copper alloy ring-headed pin of uncertain date. The pin's head is formed from a loop of the sub-circular sectioned wire which forms the shank. The gap between the end of the loop and the neck is closed with some grey material, possibly degraded solder.
