A corroded copper alloy fragment, 41.5mm in length, probably from some form of post medieval rectangular double-looped buckle. One side of the frame remains, which is straight and tapers in thickness to each end from a triangular mid point which has been drilled for a spindle (now lost). From on side projects a flat rectangular loop of uncertain function which occupies one half of the frame only, starting from the spindle hole. This suggests that the frame was originally asymmetrical in plan.
