A fragment of a cast copper alloy trumpet brooch, comprising the incomplete head and part of the bow, of early Roman date (c. AD 75-175). The lower bow, spring and pin are missing. The brooch's head is sub-circular in plan. The bow is curving with a debased acanthus moulding at the mid-point. The rest of the bow has broken off beside the acanthus moulding. Dimensions: length 30.37mm, width of head 8.7mm, width of acanthus moulding 9.08mm, thickness 11.91mm. Weight 7.63g.

A cast copper alloy T-shape brooch of early Roman date. The brooch measures 40.7mm in length, 22mm in width and weighs 9.6g. The cylindrical wings conceal the axis bar for the (missing) hinged pin. Both ends of the wings are damaged. On the crest of the bow is the stub of a loop. The bow projects forwards for c. 15mm, then the angle changes and becomes more vertical. The artefact is conical shaped with slightly convex sides, there are four concentric lines on the top surface and two on the underside. 10mm in diameter in the centre, light grey fabric.
