This purports to be an Imperial Roman struck silver Denarius of Vespasian (AD69-79), from around 71 AD. The obverse has the laureate head right with the reverse showng Pax seated left with cauduceus & branch. So far so good, however, the execution is poor with the portrait and the seated Pax being very poorly described. A close examination of the rim reveals that there is a 'core' with a silver-sheet coat. It is therefore considered to be a contemporary fake.

This is a struck Roman silver denarius of Trajan (98-117). The coin depicts the portrait bust of Trajan facing right on the obverse and the reverse has Victory standing left, half draped and holding wreath and palm. The overall impression is of a poorly struck, off centre coin with much surface wear and some pitting to the obverse. There is a crack in the flan running from the rim to the centre of the coin at the 2:30 position when viewed from the obverse. A similar coin can be found at RIC II 128.
