Fragment of a Roman silver trumpet derived bow and fantail brooch dating to the second century AD. Only the lower part (the fantail) and the catch plate survive. Raised moulding below the break, acting as the terminus of the fantail, is decorated with two wide deep grooves and two smaller central grooves. The fantail is decorated with an engraved central chalice shape containing a deep incised heart motif. Fragment of a silver Roman trumpet brooch. The fragments consists of a circular section cast to look like a flower with approximately 11 petals. In the centre is a raised knop. On the reverse is a cast wire loop through which would is another broken wire loop. The fragment corresponds to Mackreth (2011) pg.120-121, Pl.81, No.12349 Type 1.2cx which are suggested to be from Type 2.c trumpet brooches.

A fragmentary miniature thistle-type brooch made of mercury gilt silver. The bow is P-shaped in profile and it has finely decorated applied incuse linear decoration on the wings. There is an expanded foot and a circular feature in the centre of the bow. It has a silver content of over 98%. This is a very small example, and as such would have served a decorative rather than a functional purpose.
