75 Roman Silver, 10 Roman Bronze coins and a pot sherd
All of the coins were found within an area of 30 x 30 yards; some coins were on the surface with others at a maximum depth of nine inches. A fused lump of denarii - possibly burnt as they are deformed into a fused mass (total wt. = 14.01g). Three of the coins can be identified as of Severus Alexander (AD 222-35) but further details are uncertain due to the condition of the coins.
As this find consists of at least 7 silver coins which are over 300 years old it should be considered as potential Treasure as defined by the Treasure Act 1996.
