TREASURE CASE : 2018 T478.
The coin is a Roman silver siliqua of Arcadius, mint of Milan, AD 393-4. It is unusually thin and slightly dished, possibly due to a combination of wear and surface cleaning, as the metal is bright even though the coin is pitted and corroded. This unusual appearance could indicate an ancient forgery but the coin is not plated. The coin has a sub-triangular hole that appears to be ancient.
Obverse: [D N ARCAD] Head, right.
Reverse: VI[RTVS ROMANORVM] // MD[PS] Roma seated left holding Victory and vertical sceptre.
