Description: An incomplete object comprising an iron shaft within a gilded silver cover. The cover is split along one side where the iron corrosion has burst through. The object has a domed top with a moulded collar, below which is a concentric row of punched annulets. Just before the break is a concentric row of punched annulets, now partially obscured by iron corrosion product. The shaft is moulded into a series of alternating ridges and grooves of varying thicknesses; it terminates in an old break.

Description: Ring-shaped head from a silver proto-handpin. The head is oval, slightly wider than it is tall, and fairly flat, with both front and reverse slightly rounded, but the front more than the reverse. There is an oval perforation placed slightly above centre. The front has very well-executed decoration in two halves, an area of ribbing on the upper half and a sunken panel area of relief decoration on the lower half.

Incomplete probably Roman silver hair pin, most of the shank missing. The upper half of the biconical head is very uneven, miscast or damaged, while on the lower half a ring of pellets surrounds the springing of the pin. What is left of the shank is badly distorted. No close parallel noted. Diameter of head 7mm. Weight 1.50g. Mid 1st - 4th century.

Fragment of silver hairpin, bi-conical head with pronounced point on upper part, broken circular-sectioned shank projects from base. This object was reported as possible treasure under the Treasure Act 1996 and was subsequently returned to the finder after being disclaimed as treasure.

Description: Incomplete silver pin of possible Roman date. It has an undecorated oval head. The shaft tapers slightly along its length and is bent at right angles in two places, terminating in an old break.
Dimensions: Length (bent): 18mm, approximate length unbent: 44.2mm, diameter of head: 4.1mm, weight: 1.1g.
Discussion: A number of similar examples have been reported as Treasure and are recorded on the PAS database, including BERK-F717EC, BUC-373880 (2018T110) & CAM-9ADF59 (2018T844).
