Fragment of a silver finger-ring broken off at both ends: flat-sectioned hoop widening to an external change of angle marked by a transverse groove beyond which there may have been a flat bezel, but most of its outer surface is missing. A tiny fragment of silver finger ring. A flat sectioned fragment of the band, expanding in a smooth curve to a fragment of shoulder or bezel with at least two indentations, survives. Probably Roman, possibly similar to a white metal example in Crummy (1983, fig. 52, no.1791).

Fragment of silver Roman finger ring. The rear and one side of the oval to D-sectioned hoop is missing, expanding smoothly from the breaks through the shoulders before small notches on either side defining the edge of the oval bezel. The shoulders are decorated with a pair of grooves following each edge. In the centre of the bezel a plain, integral oval boss stands in relief imitating a setting. Rectangular-sectioned at the rear of the hoop, becoming D-sectioned as it expands to form highly stylised oval snake head terminals with a slight flange around the edge. Incomplete Roman silver finger ring. The bezel is only a little wider then the shoulders. A square area at its centre is recessed, with a straight edge on two sides but open on both edges of the hoop. Presumably a separate element has been lost, though there is no surviving solder. On either side of the recess the surface is pitted. Width of bezel 7.5mm. Width of hoop at narrowest part 4.6mm. External diameter 19.7 - 23.2. Internal diameter 17.5 - 19mm. Weight 5.12g. 3rd - 4th century.

Description Treasure reference 2018 T741: a Roman silver finger ring, probably of Henig Type VIII which dates to the second or third century AD. The ring has a flat sub-rectangular bezel with sloping triangular shoulders. The shoulders taper to form a slender hoop. The bezel is very worn and no inscription or decoration is visible.
