A rim sherd or Roman Swanpool/Cantley type mortarium. The oxidised orange fabric has white slip, slag trituration grit on the inside and the rim has a bead and rounded flange. The diameter of the vessel would have been 270mm and the weight is 94.60g. A published comparison can be found in Darling (1999, 110, Fig.43, No.585) and dates to late 3rd -4th century.

An incomplete Roman bracelet. The slightly bent copper alloy strip is D-shaped in section and tapers in thickness at both truncated ends. The worn decoration consists of groups of transverse grooves alternate with plain panels. The surviving length is 44.2mm, the maximum width of the strip is 3.8, the maximum thickness is 1.6mm and the weight is 1.80g.

A copper-alloy Roman cosmetic article. The twisted, flat sheet metal strip handle has a small, hemispherical spoon bowl at one end with a diameter of 4.8mm. At the other end is a curved blade like tool with blunt edges. The projected length is 65.0mm, the width of the blade is 4.0mm, the thickness is 1.6mm and the weight is 1.77g.

An incomplete cast copper alloy Late Roman amphora-shaped strap end. The slightly curved undecorated leaf-shaped body narrows from the neck that has two kidney shaped holes suggesting amphora handles. The terminal of the body is now missing. At the top of the strap end are two integral perforated lugs representing a hinge type attachment. Through the centre of these are the remains of an iron pin. The surviving length is 54.1mm, the width is 18.8mm, the thickness of the body is 1.9mm and the thickness of the lugs is 7.7mm.

An incomplete copper alloy high shoulders group Roman nail cleaner. The integral flat suspension loop with an external diameter of 9.6mm, is on the same plane as the shaft. The flat leaf-shaped shaft tapers from the shoulders to the two incomplete points. There is transverse scored line, placed above a vertical line down the centre of the shaft and probably continued to the division of the points. The surviving length is 37.6mm, the maximum width is 9.6mm, the thickness is 1.3mm and the weight is 1.70g. A similar example is known from Dragonby, North Lincs (May 1996, 76 and 71, …

A complete cast copper alloy Romano-Celtic button and loop fastener of Wild’s class III. The teardrop or petal-headed shaped head has a central boss surrounded by a raised cordon, which terminates with a point. The back of the head is flat and has an integral triangular loop is bent at a ninety-degree angle to the back of the head. The length is 35.5mm, the width is 14.0mm, the thickness is 10.8mm and the weight is 6.39g.

An incomplete cast copper alloy Roman spoon dating to the first or second century AD. The complete circular concave bowl has an incomplete integral circular-sectioned stem which begins as a triangular shaped ridge on the underside of the bowl. The spoon can be classified as a Crummy Type 1 (Crummy 1983, p. 70) The diameter of the bowl is 22.0mm, the depth is 5.5mm, the diameter of the handle is 2.5mm and the weight is 5.60g.
