A complete copper-alloy Trumpet type brooch of 1st to 2nd century AD. The head consists of a semi-circular plate with a rounded lobe at the top. On the underside of the head the iron axis bar passes through a perforated central lug. The copper-alloy pin has been wound around the axis bar, the end having been looped underneath the head and secured on the opposite side of the lug. The point of the pin is located just above the level of the foot of the brooch. The deeply curved bow is of semi-circular section and tapers gradually towards the foot. An incomplete copper-alloy Colchester type one-piece brooch of 1st century AD date. The spring has five coils of wire and an external chord, all of which emanate from the underside of the head and are wrapped around an integral axis bar. The only element which has been added is the pin, the perforated 'eye' of which survives. The bow is thin, has flat surfaces and tapers to a point at the foot. Only a remnant of the catchplate survives. The brooch measures 45.1mm long, 13.8mm wide and 14.8mm deep. The weight is 5.19g.

A fragment of a copper-alloy Rosette or Thistle type brooch of mid 1st century AD date (Hattatt 1982: 98). Approximately half of the short, humped bow remains - it has flat surfaces and is thin and wide. At the bottom, the bow gives way to the plate, which would originally have been sub-circular in plan. The upper surface of the plate has two raised rims, close to the outer edge.
