A complete copper-alloy Trumpet type brooch of 1st to 2nd century AD.
The head consists of a semi-circular plate with a rounded lobe at the top. On the underside of the head the iron axis bar passes through a perforated central lug. The copper-alloy pin has been wound around the axis bar, the end having been looped underneath the head and secured on the opposite side of the lug. The point of the pin is located just above the level of the foot of the brooch. The deeply curved bow is of semi-circular section and tapers gradually towards the foot.
