Roman copper alloy coin: dupondius or as of uncertain emperor, circa AD 160-260. The coin has a dark green patina and is covered with either corrosion product or dirt making it hard to see. The edges have been damaged and the coin surface is abraded. The obverse bears a bearded bust right, with either a radiate or laureate crown. The beard is long and pronounced making it more likely to belong to an emperor of AD 160 or later (Marsden page 11), ?possibly Septimus Severus (AD192-211) or ?Maximus (AD 235-238) ref: Marsden, A 2001 'Roman Coins found in Britain'
