Worn Roman copper-alloy nummus, possibly of Magnus Maximus (AD 383-8), dating to AD 383-7 (Reece Period 20), VOT V MVLT X in wreath. Mint of Lyon. LRBC p. 53, cf. no. 384. This coin was originally attributed to Jovian, but the description given really only fits for Magnus Maximus. Only examination of the coin could provide a certain identification.

Brockage of a copper alloy nummus of Theodosius I, 379-95. This coin is called a brockage. It results from the previous coin struck sticking to the reverse die and then providing a negative / incuse image on the next coin. Such pieces turn up from time to time. It is not possible to be certain whether this coin is a 383-8 Vota issue, or a 388-95 Victory issue.
