Roman silver bracelet fragment in the form of a highly-stylised snake-head terminal. The flattened fragment is of low plano-convex cross-section and expands from the neck to the head which incorporates eyes, textured muzzle and slightly bifurcated tip. Details of head and skin are rendered with a lightly-incised symmetrical design. Date: Roman, probably 2nd - 3rd century AD. Analysis: non-destructive surface metal analysis conducted at the British Museum indicated a silver content of approximately 77%.

Incomplete silver bracelet, probably dating to the Roman period, (43-410AD). The object is sub-rectangular in cross-section and rectangular in plan. Each end terminates in a break however one end tapers before the break. The object is decorated with a median ridge which is decorated with small transverse grooves. On either side of the ridge are three ridge-and-grooves. Where the object begins to taper is a vertical ridge beyond which the median ridge is solid and undecorated. Treasure Case. A fragment of a late Roman silver bracelet or finger ring. The object is made from two strands of silver wire, circular in cross-section and twisted around each other to form a ring. The projected diameter of the surviving section suggests that this is a finger ring, though it might be distorted. The chunkiness of the strands would make it uncomfortably large, and so its identification as a bracelet seems more appropriate. Similar cable bracelets were discovered accompanying late Roman burials at Colchester (Crummy, 1982, p.38, fig. 41, nos 1611, 1613, 1628.

A distorted Roman silver open-ended bracelet. The cross-section of the hoop varies between circular and oval. The terminals are lightly trumpet-shaped, solid and plain, with a quite rudimentarily finished flat end. Roman examples of this type of bracelet, some with incised decoration, are known in gold, silver, and copper alloy. It measures 68mm deep (terminal to back of hoop) by 61mm wide and weighs 12.73g.

Incomplete Roman silver bracelet, missing one terminal and now in four parts (three of which comprise one circular 'eye' terminal). The bracelet is oval in section and 2.5x2.5mm at its thickest point. It tapers to either end, where the breaks are fresh, to a circular section c.1mm in diameter. The bracelet is now 48mm in length although the ends overlap by 13mm and it is rather squashed. It would have fitted a small wrist. It weighs 4.52g. The broken 'eye' is 5mm in diameter (internal 3mm) and 1mm thick in circular section.

The bracelet has been pulled out of its original form, now comprising a plain narrow strip, plano-convex in section. The zoomorphic-head terminal has become detached post deposition.
