Description:
An incomplete silver possible finger ring fragment of Roman date, c.AD 43 - 410. The fragment is sub-rectangular with a slight bend mid-way along its length. All edges are broken and worn. To one side of the bend is an irregular dark patch which may represent the point at which a separate stone/intaglio/bezel was affixed. The opposite side of the bend has two double banded grooves running from the bend to the break. The reverse of the piece is flat and undecorated.

Description:
An incomplete silver finger ring with blue glass intaglio of Roman date, c.AD 200 - 300. The bezel of the ring is an octagonal box setting with tall sides and slight folds at the rim to hold the gem in place. The hoop of the ring projects to either side of the bezel to form wide shoulders with linear moulded decoration. The shoulders terminate in irregular worn breaks which make it difficult to determine the nature of the linear decoration. There is a crescent on the upper surface at the angle of each shoulder.
