CURATOR'S REPORT Description of find Small silver Roman finger ring, circular in profile and square in section. The outside of the hoop is decorated with an encircling series of pellet mouldings. CURATOR'S REPORT Description of Object Roman silver ring of 'keeled' type; just less than half of the hoop is missing. The circular profile hoop is square in section; the ring has flat triangular shoulders decorated with incised spirals. The circular bezel is inscribed 'TOT' inside a border of punched dots. Date: 3rd century AD Discussion 'TOT' is thought to be a reference to the god Toutatis; 'TOT' rings are common finds from Roman Britain.

The stylised hound has distinctive teardrop shaped ears and pellet-in ring eyes, a slender body with prominent shoulder and haunches and a long tail which loops round and joins with its back. Treasure number- 2008 T716. Roman silver finger ring, complete, with an oval hoop which expands and swells to a flattened bezel set with an oval, orangey-red carnelian intaglio. The intaglio depicts Bonus Eventus, who is shown standing facing with his head left, his outstretched left hand holding a patera, and his right arm down by his side ears of corn. Roman silver finger ring of semi-circular section and oval profile which swells to a wide flattened bezel, set with an ovoid orange-red carnelian intaglio flush with the bezel; this is engraved with a bird standing left holding a morsel of food in its beak. Scientific examination shows that the ring appears to be hollow but may originally have had a copper core plated thickly with silver which explains its mostly dull grey appearance.
