A copper alloy Roman coin with extensive wear and degradation of the identifiable marks. The obverse has a portrait head not dissimilar to Severus Alexander (AD222 – AD235) and the size would indicate that it is a Sestertius. The reverse has a standing figure, possibly Ceres with the initials SC to either side. The coin has the appearance and style of a counterfeit of the period.

RIC contains no listing for this coin, which has the reverse legend 'P M TR P V COS II P P' (indicating a date of AD 226) and the image of Pax running left; such coins are, however, listed under the entries for the following two years (nos. 67 and 80).
The coin is slightly corroded but has little wear. It measures 18.9mm in diameter, 2.2mm thick and weighs 2.1g.
