A ceramic Roman tessera dating to the period c. AD 43 - 410. The tessera is sub-cuboidal in shape and made from a coarse red-orange fabric with orange-grey upper and lower faces and badly sorted irregular inclusions. The upper surface is smooth while the lower surface is uneven. The tessera measures 22.57mm in height, 26.34mm maximum width, 16.51mm minimum width and weighs 19.11g.

Two stone fragments - one tessera, one potential tessera, both plausibly Roman - as follows: One fragment of a tessera, originally square, now broken, mid grey in colour, probably made from Purbeck marble (see image). It measures 17.7mm by 13.8mm by 12.9mm thick; it weighs 4.41g. One fragment of non-local sandstone (no image). It is dark grey-brown in colour with irregular breaks on at least four sides. Two sides are more even giving it a roughly cuboid appearance and it may have been a tessera. It measures 19.7mm by 20.1mm by 13.5mm; it weighs 5.80g. …

A ceramic tessera, sub-square in plan, reworked from a Roman tile. The fabric is sandy with some leached out inclusions. The outer surfaces are grey while the inner core is an orange-red colour. The shape of the object is fairly crude and irregular.
