A Roman copper alloy coin with silver wash. A Radiate of Carausius, AD 287-293. C mint, S P//MC. 80% silvering intact. PROVID AVGGG, Providentia standing left holding globe and cornucopiae. cf RIC Vol V, part ii, page 495, no. 368. This is not an exact match - no. 368 only has the letter C in the exergue, rather than MC. Sam Moorhead has recorded a PROVID AVGGG piece with Providentia holding baton and cornucopiae with this mintmark; both coins are the only examples known of their type. This coin has been recorded in the RIC Corpus.
